Steel building accessories are additional features of a steel building that are optional and do not come with the standard package of steel buildings. These accessories can be used to enhance the beauty and look of your steel building as well as to greatly increase its functionality. Different Types of Steel Building Accessories

Doors: Steel doors are an essential accessory for steel buildings. You can get doors that are either the overhead door types or the walk-in doors. There is also the option of buying doors which are insulated or non-insulated. Overhead doors can be sectional, roll-up, or sliding doors; whereas walk doors can be single swing, double swing, or sliding doors. Steel doors are available in a variety of sizes so as to suit individual requirements. There is no limit to the number of doors that your steel building can have, as long as they are installed in a place where there are no columns or bracing cables.

Windows: Windows for steel buildings can be bought as horizontal sliding windows, single hung windows or slim line windows. Most of these are made of aluminum which is a very durable material for windows as well as being easy to clean and almost maintenance free. Windows are great for letting natural light and air into the steel buildings and also give the buildings a more finished look. Most windows include latching, weather stripping, and glass that is either insulated or non-insulated.

Insulation Systems: Steel buildings are very durable and strong as they are made of steel, but this can also cause the buildings to become very hot in summers or cool in winters as steel is a good conductor of heat. Condensation can also be a problem in steel buildings. But these can easily be taken care of by using insulation systems for your steel building. Insulation systems can be vapor barrier systems or fiberglass insulation systems that typically provide R 10 to R 39 values of insulation (the higher the value the better) Premium insulation systems are more costly but provide an insulation value higher than R 40 which is considered amongst the best.

Wall Louvers: These can be fixed on any area of the steel building that is unobstructed by columns and bracing. Wall louvers are great for providing ventilation in steel buildings. They are available in different sizes and with the option of being fixed or adjustable.

Vents: These are available as circular or ridge vents. Most vents come complete with bird screens, dampers, cable operators, and operating levers. Vents are easy to install and can be adjusted to fit individual roof slopes.

Skylights: These are ideal for providing natural light into the steel buildings and at the same time look great as well.

Downspouts and Gutters: Roll formed gutters of steel are available in different lengths and sizes. These are mitered at the corners for easy installation and erection. Downspouts are also available in different sizes and can also be sized to fit the gutter capacity. You can match the color of the downspouts to the wall panels if you so wish.

Miscellaneous Accessories: These can add a classy look to your steel building and also add to its utility. Such accessories include steel entrance canopies, glass storefronts, stucco dormers, canvas canopies, and decorative brick fronts.
