Flower gardens can come in many different forms, and can range from anything from a window box garden or a small indoor flower garden to a sprawling outdoor extravaganza filled with colour and fragrance. Your flower garden can be whatever it you want it to be, and the only restrictions are those placed by Mother Nature – the rest is down to your taste, commitment and imagination.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to deciding upon the ideal flower garden for you – it is simply a matter of personal taste and your ability to use your imagination. The placement of your plants will also help to take your flower garden in the direction in which you want it to go, so this is another consideration you must take in to account. Getting inspiration and ideas can be very useful when thinking about flower gardening, and you should take the opportunity to check out as many resources as possible. This isn’t to say you should try and copy a particular picture or someone else’s garden as it is unlikely to turn out the same. However, you can get a good idea of what type of flower garden to aim for, the types of flowers and colours you would like to use, and the overall message that you want your flower garden to portray.
